A Cross Country (XC) is also known as a hare scramble. These endurance style events take place over 2 hours for big bikes, 30 minutes for peewee's, and 1 hour 30 minutes for youth and ladies. The race is held through a mix of forested and single track and open 2 track trials. Sometimes portions of a motocross track are used. As in all of our club events, these events are family oriented with a race class for all ages and skill levels.
Classes start with the 50cc peewee class broken into A and B. A is for slightly more skilled 50cc riders, where the B class is for first year racers starting at age 5. These little ones are the first race of the day beginning at 10:00am for 30 minutes on a relatively easy course. They have an entire course to themselves.
Youth A/B and Ladies A/B are the second race of the day, starting at approx 11:00am. This is a shortened course from the big bikes. Youth A is the fastest of the youth classes, riding 65cc to 105cc 2 stroke or 150cc 4 stroke. Youth B is 65cc to 85 cc 2 stroke or 100cc 4 stroke. The ladies class is broken in to A and B riders based on skill level and there are no limitations on bike size.
The afternoon race for big bikes is a full course that ranges from 8-20km in length starting at 1:00 pm. Courses go through all types of terrain from mud to sand, corduroy bridges to rocks. We have Expert, Intermediate, Novice, +30, +40 and +50 classes available.
